Darker Still - Leanna Renee Hieber "Darker Still" is a gothic romance set in the late 1800's. It's a good read at first; Natalie is engaging and likeable, and I was intrigued by what is clearly a retelling of the Picture of Dorian Gray. Unfortunately, the more I read, the less invested I was in the story. There's a bad case of instalove here, and a preachy undertone that put me off. Lord Dunberry, too, was a disappointment. Too many melodramatic speeches, not enough action. The man was, IMO, a dead bore. I would have left him in the painting
