Shiver - Maggie Stiefvater This is an interesting book for me to rate. I didn't really care for the author's take on werewolves (ability to change shape/form is directly linked to temperature, and you can only shift so many times before you're stuck in wolf form) but at the same time, I appreciated her coming up with something unique & different. The plot's unfortunately thin, though, the action of the story secondary to the emotion. But for all its shortcomings, it's a beautifully written tale, filled with evocative words & descriptions and frequent references to Rilke's poetry....and that, more than anything, is why I'm giving "Shiver" a 4-star rating. Because I loved the words.
